Mary Ann Dear Betty Ann, A short note to say thank you for the time you took to address my concerns and on such short notice. It does take me time to work up my courage to visit a salon. I enjoyed meeting you and really appreciated our conversation, your putting me at ease, and the results. In thinking back over the years of all the different hair stylists I've visited, I have to say that you have made me feel more at ease with myself than any of the others I have seen. Only one other lady, back in the early 1980's in Atlantic Beach, North Carolina equaled your friendliness.
In regard to our discussion on glasses, it was interesting that a different pair of distance glasses that I had recently gotten looked better with the newer hairstyle than it had with the old. (I hadn't shown you those) Spending some frivolous time on the Internet, I played a bit with framesdirect.com. Perhaps you've visited them? They have a virtual log in where you upload a photo and can see glasses on your face. Interesting, but not quite the place to make decisions. In the meantime, I'll just continue having photos without glasses on :)
I can't honestly say my husband was overly "pleased" with my new look - between you and me, I think it may have been psychological and that he had liked the slightly longer hair. I'm attaching a before and after photo taken before I came and when I returned home. I had taken it on the whim using a self-timer, and was struck later by how different they were. They seem like two different people with different personalities - one, perhaps a little more motherly, caring (spending more time on others than herself) vs the one who has a lighter head, appears more athletic, and less worry about the heaviness of her hair and a more carefree style- perhaps a more businesslike and less emotional front.
Interesting thoughts - a hairstyle that can free us to be ourselves, uncover our identities, or expose the complexities of an identity! Who do we really want to be or who are we really? :)
Sincere wishes that your remodeling goes smoothly and all continues well with your husband.

I have had long, straight hair for a long time now. As I am getting older, I realized that, while my hair still was beautiful, my aging face didn't look so beautiful with it. I found an add that Betty Ann had placed in a publication saying that she could analyze your face and find what would be best for you. I walked in with hair down to the middle of my back and walked out with hair as short as Betty Ann's. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT!!! She is VERY good at what she does! She was able to analyze my face and she cut my hair perfectly to compliment me. My eyes are no longer sunk into my head and the wrinkles that were jumping out at me when I looked in the mirror seem to have faded into the background. While I must say, it is very weird to wash it - (because it is so short and I hardly have to use any shampoo!) it is sooooooo easy to take care of. She took everything I said into consideration and cut my hair so that it not only looks amazing - I look amazing with it - and I can be in my convertible and I don't have to wear a hat and worry about it messing up - cause it doesn't! I am so grateful that I saw her ad and went to her! She is a master at what she does! I highly recommend her and her beautiful shop!!!
Thanks, Angie Cloutier
